The Penwing apps

• The apps send nothing to us. They have no ads, no analytics and no crash reports.
• Your Mac and your PC talk to each other over an encrypted connection. You pair them once with a 6-digit code.
• While you are connected, the picture goes from your Mac to your PC: the Penwing display, or a Mac screen you choose to mirror. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
• If clipboard sharing is on, the text and pictures you copy go to your other device while you are connected.
• On your local network, the Mac app announces its name so that your PC can find it.
• On each device, Penwing keeps a few files: its settings, the devices you paired, the security certificate for the connection, and a log for troubleshooting. These files stay on that device.
• If you send us a log to get help, we use it only to solve your problem.

Permissions on your Mac

• Screen Recording: to send the picture to your PC.
• Accessibility: to turn your taps, pen and keys into clicks, moves and typing on the Mac.
• Local Network: to let your PC find the Mac without typing an address.

Penwing uses these permissions only for these jobs.

Remote access

Remote access is off until you switch it on. When it is on, your devices can connect through Tailscale. Tailscale is a separate service, with its own account and its own privacy policy.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. It loads no fonts or scripts from other companies.

Like every website, our host, [HOSTING PROVIDER], receives technical data when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type. It uses this data to deliver the pages and keep them secure.

When you buy Penwing

[PAYMENT PROVIDER] handles payments. It receives your payment details, and we never see your full card number. We receive your name, email address, country and what you bought. We use them to send your license, to help you, and to keep the tax records that the law asks for.

If you get Penwing from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles that purchase under its own privacy statement.

Emails

If you write to us, we use your email address and your message only to answer you.

Your rights
